Every time I photograph squirrels, I nearly always get a negative reaction. The local squirrels in our area are grey squirrels.

They’re not as pretty as red squirrels, but they’re here now and just running about doing squirrel stuff.

I think they’re pretty and funny and good practice for wildlife photography.

I dont understand how people can hate a wild animal that’s just running around doing what wild animals do.

So here you go have some squirrel pics .
I went for a walk along Morcambe promenade, the tide was far out to sea, leaving the small boats behind with an air of mystery.

They probably weren’t abandoned, imagination takes over.

The rust implies neglect, are they in use or just left?

I thought they made interesting images with character.

Hints of storms; old fishermen with rheumy eyes and brown faces, encrusted with deep cavernous wrinkles and a plethora of tales to share with bright eyed curious children.
so I’ve neglected this space for over a year after getting sucked into a social media black hole.
I’m going to try and move away from social media for a bit and get back to what I originally started doing and just documenting for fun.

This is a statue I came across in Morcambe/Heysham on a recent day out. I thought it was awesome.

It’s a sculpture by artist Anna Gillespie, designed to reflect the maritime heritage of the area, which spans from vikings to romans through to today.

it is located in Half Moon Bay, with figures looking in opposite directions sat on the skeleton of a ships hull. one towards Heysham nuclear power station and the other looking towards St Patricks Chapel.

” I developed the idea of a simple ship with people sitting on it, high up to see out over the bay.
It’s what people do when they sit at the sea, and contemplate.
It;s what the sea does to you, gives you a break and space.
Hopefully people are going to see this when they look at the sculpture.”
Anna Gillespie Artist.

Theres a small tea room and a pay and display car park, that’s not very expensive, plenty of benches to sit on and a nice leisurely walk to St Patrick’s chapel if you fancy a stroll. not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

I’ve always loved magpies, most people are afraid of them, but I find them fascinating. They’re intelligent and resourceful, beautiful to look at. Im really pleased this little juvenile allowed me to get close enough to get some pretty decent shots.
These were taken at Haigh Hall in Wigan on one of my daily walks.
When the bluebells start popping up that means that spring is here.
blossoms on the hawthorns, and dandelion clocks full of great expectations in unspoken wishes.

Lovely morning this morning , took a woodland walk through Crawford woods and Haigh plantations, Wigan Uk.

I’m struggling for inspiration, it’s been a shit year, hopefully get back on track now.

The Hawthorn on the bridleway near my house is in full bloom right now, pretty pictures.

I love bluebells, it means summer is on its way back and a reminder that winter always comes to and end eventually. All we have to do is wait.
