Horses

Im lucky enough to live near a lot of farm land and equine breeders.

Almost daily I’m walking past fields with horses in them.

I take a lot of horse pictures.

Some of them know me by sight and will come over to say hello and for a quick pet .

some are a bit more stand offish. They definitely make my day when I see them.

Old Boats in Morcambe Bay

I went for a walk along Morcambe promenade, the tide was far out to sea, leaving the small boats behind with an air of mystery.

They probably weren’t abandoned, imagination takes over.

The rust implies neglect, are they in use or just left?

I thought they made interesting images with character.

Hints of storms; old fishermen with rheumy eyes and brown faces, encrusted with deep cavernous wrinkles and a plethora of tales to share with bright eyed curious children.

Back into the swing of things

so I’ve neglected this space for over a year after getting sucked into a social media black hole.

I’m going to try and move away from social media for a bit and get back to what I originally started doing and just documenting for fun.

This is a statue I came across in Morcambe/Heysham on a recent day out. I thought it was awesome.

It’s a sculpture by artist Anna Gillespie, designed to reflect the maritime heritage of the area, which spans from vikings to romans through to today.

it is located in Half Moon Bay, with figures looking in opposite directions sat on the skeleton of a ships hull. one towards Heysham nuclear power station and the other looking towards St Patricks Chapel.

” I developed the idea of a simple ship with people sitting on it, high up to see out over the bay.

It’s what people do when they sit at the sea, and contemplate.

It;s what the sea does to you, gives you a break and space.

Hopefully people are going to see this when they look at the sculpture.”

Anna Gillespie Artist.

Theres a small tea room and a pay and display car park, that’s not very expensive, plenty of benches to sit on and a nice leisurely walk to St Patrick’s chapel if you fancy a stroll. not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
