This is a leucistic blackbird, I spotted it at the edge of the water in Bowness. It’s a genetic difference, not completely rare but not really common either.
Locals told me it’s been around for a couple of years. I’ve never seen one before and most likely won’t see one again.
I’ve always loved magpies, most people are afraid of them, but I find them fascinating. They’re intelligent and resourceful, beautiful to look at. Im really pleased this little juvenile allowed me to get close enough to get some pretty decent shots.
